Mark Wolle presents Alan Sharpe with a cheque to support Women’s Crisis Services

Over $10,073 raised on one day to support Women and their children moving beyond abuse

The statistics are alarming; 45% of Women’s Crisis Services (WCSWR) shelter clients are children, and most are under the age of 10. In any given year, this translates to well over 200 kids who have been exposed to abuse and violence in their homes¦.the one place that should be the most secure and safe for them.  Breaking the inter-generational cycle of abuse is critical to the reduction and moreover the eradication of violence against women.

That is one of the reasons that the Royal LePage Shelter Foundation ” Canada’s largest publicly foundation dedicated exclusively to supporting women’s shelters and violence prevention programs ” hosted their Annual National Garage Sale for Shelter across Canada this past May.

On Saturday, May 7th, Royal LePage Wolle Realty  hosted a GIANT garage sale complete with musical entertainment, electronics recycling, and partners from HARVEY’s to raise funds and awareness for Women’s Crisis Services. Every dollar raised goes directly to Women’s Crisis Services, and this year they raised $10,073!

Wolle Realty agents and staff volunteered their time and resources to ensure the garage sale was a success with agents working the tables, arranging for donations, managing volunteers, and spreading the word about this unique fundraiser.

Across Canada, 100% of revenue generated supports local women’s shelters and violence prevention programs, helping more than 30,000 women and children this year. The National Garage Sale for Shelter has raised millions of dollars and the Royal LePage Shelter Foundation has raised more than $18 million since its inception, helping fund long-term solutions to end violence in Canadian homes.

Royal LePage Wolle Realty is a strong supporter and advocate of Women’s Crisis Services of Waterloo Region
