Volunteering

Introduction

Thank you for your interest in our agency and the volunteer opportunities it has to offer. All program volunteers are required to attend a training, which consists of 8 sessions totaling 25 hours. The training not only prepares volunteers for their role, it educates them about: the causes of violence against women, power and control, oppression, racism, effects of abuse on women and children, safety planning and listening. The training offers valuable insight for people interested in volunteering in a shelter environment. Upon completion of the training volunteers receive a certificate of participation.
