- VOLUNTEERING -

Thank you for your interest in our agency and the opportunities it has to offer.

All volunteers are required to go through a training, which consists of 8 sessions, a total of 36 hours. The training covers topics such as; effects of violence on women/children, oppression, feminism philosophies, legal/mental health issues, multicultural issues etc. Training occurs in the spring and fall and is for 8 sessions. It is an extensive and amazing training. You receive a certificate for completing the 40 hours.

We have many different programs to volunteer in; crisis line, children's recreation, fundraising, public education, administration. We ask for a commitment of 3.5 to 4 hours a week in the program you select to volunteer in. Volunteer opportunities are available at Anselma House or Haven House.

If interested, we complete an application on the phone, then a face to face interview and go from there. All volunteers are asked to hand in a police check once they are accepted as a volunteer.
