Greek women

To honor the feast of the Greek St. Philothei, the Righteous Martyr of Athens, our local Greek Ladies group holds a luncheon and special gathering of women each year on February 19. St. Philothei was full of grace and faith. Among many trials in her lifetime, she was married very young to an abusive husband, who later died.  To learn more about St. Philothei, click here. She was known to be very philanthropic and also welcoming to women seeking refuge.

We are very humbled that this day was chosen to honour St. Philothei and Women’s Crisis Services. Monies raised at this event support our work to help women and children in our region move beyond violence. Thank you for marking this day and for inviting us to share the celebration with you.  Your support will encourage women and children survivors of domestic abuse.
