Terrific Tables-Wonderful Women brought people from all walks of life to create, vote, bid, laugh and learn; all in support of Women’s Crisis Services. Thank you for being a part of a very special celebration and for helping us raise much needed funds for our two shelters and outreach program. Together we raised almost $10,000 for Women’s Crisis Services of Waterloo Region!

Many of you shared your table ideas for next year already and we are looking forward to your creativity and inspiration for 2015! Save the date- SUNDAY, MARCH 1!

Some of you have already shared, but keep sending in your photos of your teams and your creations to kourtney.beckman@wcswr.org or post them on our facebook page.

We couldn’t have had such a great day without the support of sponsors like WestJet and Rogers Kitchener Radio Group. Jennifer Campbell is an incredible MC and has a blast with us! Thank you also to “Rooted in Possibilities”  from House of Angels who gave our guests a seedling to plant. Their thoughtfulness is appreciated.

The silent auction was a hit again this year so next year we will continue to seek items that interest our wonderful women. A special thanks to our vendor friends who also joined in the fun; U Wear It Well, Fifth Avenue Collection, Avon, and South Hill Designs.

Voting was fast and furious with one team reaching ahead- “16 Candles” was the winner of our Terrific Tables contest. Honourable mention goes to “Oscar’s Muse” who was a close second and Happy Birthday Dr Seuss in third.

During the first half, two awareness videos were shown. If you want to share the two videos that were played at the event, they can be found on our website just click here.

Our CEO, Mary Zilney, has posted a blog that very closely relates to her speech during Terrific Tables – Wonderful Women. You can read it here. If you are interested in lending your support to our Cambridge Haven House rebuild, the hearing is at the City of Cambridge City Hall on Wednesday, April 23 at 6:00 pm.

Celebrating the women in our lives and our many accomplishments is an honour, and we are very proud that you celebrated with us. Remember to stop by any branch of RBC to pick up a dragonfly keychain for yourself and another fabulous female.

Happy International Women’s Week, from all of us at Women’s Crisis Services of Waterloo Region.
