2010-2011 fiscal year statistics

  • 215 women and children sought shelter at Anselma House providing 9,237 days of residential care.
  • 1423 crisis calls were received at Anselma House.
  • 188 women and children sought shelter at Haven House providing 9,035 days of residential care.
  • 1130 crisis calls were received at Haven House.
  • 403 women and children sought emergency shelter at both Anselma House and Haven House.
  • 2553 crisis calls were received at both Anselma House and Haven House.
  • 942 women were served regionally through the Outreach program.
  • Waterloo Regional Police Service responded to a domestic dispute call every 1 hour, 25 minutes in 2010.
  • In 2010, there were 6,137 domestic dispute calls in Waterloo Region, reported to the Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services by the Waterloo Regional Police Service.
  • Since 1995, there have been 15 intimate partner homicides, with 20 victims, in Waterloo Region.
