Women’s Crisis Services is excited to announce a new partnership with Clinical Psychologist Dr. Kathy Lawrence.  This pilot project has been made possible through a generous grant from the Kitchener- Waterloo United Way.

Dr Lawrence will be meeting with clients, both women and their children, from our Anselma House shelter and our Outreach program.  This will include being onsite each Wednesday afternoon for the next six months.  Dr Lawrence comes to us with almost twenty years of clinical experience working with both children and adults.  Her areas of expertise include mental health, domestic violence and sexual assault, working with refugees and new immigrants as well as conducting risk assessments.  Dr Lawrence is a partner of KW Psychologists – Drs. Doering, Torrance-Perks, Drugovic, Vaerum, Lawrence and Associates.

This partnership is one of the first of its kind.  This venture will allow our clients’ access to psychological services which would otherwise be inaccessible due to the huge expense and long wait lists.  Women and children will have a chance to better understand their current challenges and mental health while having clear and helpful recommendations to overcome such challenges.  This service will augment the already great work our staff does with our clients on a daily basis.  This will help take our assessments and service planning to an even greater level of depth.

Welcome Dr. Lawrence!
