Over $10,000 raised on one day to support Women and their children moving beyond abuse

The statistics are alarming; 45% of Women’s Crisis Services (WCSWR) shelter clients are children, and most are under the age of 10. In any given year, this translates to over 200 kids who have been exposed to abuse and violence in their homes¦.the one place that should be the most secure and safe for them. Breaking the intergenerational cycle of abuse is critical to the reduction and moreover the eradication of violence against women. IMG_20150509_095030

That is one of the reasons that the Royal LePage Shelter Foundation ” Canada’s largest public foundation dedicated exclusively to supporting women’s shelters and violence prevention programs ” hosted their 7th annual National Garage Sale for Shelter across Canada this past May.

raised goes directly to Women’s Crisis Services, and this year they raised $10,091!

Wolle Realty agents and staff volunteered their time and resources to ensure the garage sale was a success with agents working the tables, arranging for donations, managing volunteers, and spreading the word about this unique fundraiser.

Across Canada, 100% of revenue generated supports local women’s shelters and violence prevention programs, helping more than 30,000 women and children. Since 1998, the Shelter Foundation has raised more than $20 million and currently supports 200 local women’s shelters and national partners.
