The Family Violence Project of Waterloo Region (FVP) is celebrating their 10th anniversary this year.  Since its inception in 2006, the Family Violence Project has been committed to providing consistent and continuous supports and seamless delivery of services to victims of family violence. The collaborative partners

  • Community Care Access Centre of Waterloo Region
  • Crown Attorney’s Office
  • Family and Children’s Services of Waterloo Region
  • Victim Witness Assistance Program
  • Waterloo Regional Police Service
  • Waterloo Regional Sexual Assault Domestic Violence Treatment Centre
  • Women’s Crisis Services of Waterloo Region

 

The Vision and Mission statement of the FVP are as follows:

 

“A Community Free From Family Violence”

Through collaboration and in partnership with our community, the Family Violence Project of Waterloo Region raises awareness and delivers services and supports to anyone at risk and/or experiencing family violence.

 

The FVP is currently seeking an individual to fill the role as Coordinator, Family Violence project.

 

The Coordinator of the Family Violence Project is responsible for ensuring that all the co-located partners are aware of the expectations as collocated agencies of the Waterloo region Family Violence Project. This position facilitates referrals and collaboration between the partner agencies of the Family Violence project.  The incumbent ensures that there is regular communication among the partners and those systemic barriers that impede safety and services for victims of family violence are addressed. This position also has the responsibility to identify and resolve issues that could undermine trust and cooperation among the partner agencies and impede the collaborative approach to delivering services to victims of family violence.

 

Position Requirements

        • Bachelor of Social Work or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in establishing positive liaisons with community partner agencies and managing relationships with external stakeholders.
  • Requires experience managing multiple responsibilities
  • Requires knowledge of the Family Violence Program and available resources to effectively manage the program.
  • Experience in domestic violence intervention or a related field an asset.
