Women's Crisis Services operates two shelters; Anselma House in Kitchener and
Haven House in Cambridge plus regional Outreach services, for abused women and their children.
Mission Statement:
To demonstrate excellence in the provision of shelter,
education and outreach services to abused women and their children;
of every race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, age, ability,
religion and/or cultural belief. In collaboration with our community
we will empower women to move beyond violence.
Vision Statement:
Violence against women and children, in any form, will no longer be tolerated by society
Service Philosophy:
The cornerstone of service to women and children involved with Womens Crisis
Services of Waterloo Region is respect for and empowerment of the individual.
Basic to the service at Women's Crisis Services of Waterloo Region is a commitment to support
each woman in recognizing the opportunity to make her own choices about her life.
Women's Crisis Services of Waterloo Region has a commitment to helping women and children
develop new family patterns, free from abuse in an atmosphere of trust and openness.
The services of Women's Crisis Services of Waterloo Region are open to all women irrespective
of ethnicity, sexual orientation, physical ability and age. We recognize that discrimination is in itself a form of abuse.
The Staff, Volunteers and Board of Directors of Womens Crisis Services of Waterloo
Region seek to maintain a professional working relationship based on honesty,
trust, respect, understanding and accountability.
Women's Crisis Services of Waterloo Region is part of a network of community services and
opportunities available to women and children. We seek to improve this network
and develop these relationships for the greater benefit of the women and children we serve.
