Grand Valley Construction WinC

Danita Jaipersaud, Angela Pause (WinC Member) , and Martha George, President of GVCA, visit Haven House and bring donations to support women and their children moving beyond violence.

For most of us, the holiday season brings with it a very busy schedule visiting friends and family, celebrating with coworkers and team mates, and giving thanks for the comfort of good friends, good food and peace. For some women and their children in Cambridge,  the holidays can be much different. For those escaping abusive and violent situations, holidays bring with them the fear of not having the resources to provide good memories for your children, the noticeable absence of a support system, and the reminder of a sense of loss and upheaval. Thankfully, Haven House and our wonderful Cambridge community help to bring joy, hope and comfort in many ways to those in need of support.

One example is from our friends, the Women in Construction /  Grand Valley Construction Association. In November, as part of their commitment to make the region a better place for everyone, they began to collect  for Haven House.  Just before the holidays,  Danita Jaipersaud, Angela Pause (WinC Member) , and Martha George, President of GVCA,  visited Haven House and dropped off car loads of supplies and support for Women’s Crisis Services.  It was like Christmas came early as Items like shampoo and towels that women need, and other items like toys and toiletries that are nice gifts that make our residents smile.  Also included were household supplies and art supplies to engage the children living at Haven House in fun arts and crafts.

We are so fortunate to have Grand Valley Construction Association as
partners in Cambridge
to support women and their children moving beyond violence.
